Top trade officials from the European Union and the United States called Monday for an agreement on global trade talks by the end of this year.

“Regional cooperation is a key to help meet the Millennium Development Goals of reducing poverty and promoting growth and equality,” said Malik while introducing the results and achievements of the inception meeting of the Silk Road Regional Programme (SRRP), which took place from 15-17 February in Beijing.

Besides the Bush administration's imperial aims and permanent war on the world, add the one at home below the radar. Its weapons include the WTO, NAFTA, Department of Homeland Security (DHS), FBI, CIA, NSA, NORTHCOM, militarized state and local police, National Guard forces, paramilitary mercenaries like Blackwater USA, and all other repressive instruments of state power and control.

Globalization and the new world order are profound failures. They are based on flawed economic logic that ignores need to have no government intervention in free markets controlled by supply and demand. Democracy can not be created by developing new economic markets based on government corruption. History indicates free states precede free markets. Politcal democracy creates economic democracy not the other way around.
