Wal-Mart's Sam's Club chain limits rice purchase

Wal-Mart Stores Inc. said its Sam's Club wholesale club chain is limiting the sale of some rice to four bags per member visit because of what it described as "supply and demand trends."
Jasmine, basmati and long-grain white rices will be subject to those purchase restrictions, as long as they are allowed by law, in the 594 clubs across the U.S., said Sam's Club spokeswoman Kristy Reed. New Mexico and Idaho are the only two states that forbid such practice, she said.

Although Wal-Mart is traditionally viewed as a logistics leader and a pioneer in RFID adoption, only 975 of its stores currently utilize the technology. Frustrated by losing sales due to misplaced inventory, the firm is now dead set on rolling out RFID gear into every single North American store, and soon.

Fortress North America is a term used during World War II which was devised to protect America and Canada from the Nazi blitzkrieg in case all the other nations failed to stop them. Since 9/11 it has been used to further integrate North America and secure the continent. If we are to integrate with Canada and Mexico why is it that we can no longer cross both borders without a long-range RFID enabled passport, thumb print and a cavity search?
