A common market and a single currency will now take centre stage as the East African Community (EAC) moves towards a political federation. This decision has been reached at by the 6th Summit of the Heads of State of the EAC. But the position has been adopted after most Tanzanians rejected the proposal to fast track the EAC political federation.
