Thought Crime Proposal Passed House, On To Senate

H.R. 1955 has passed the House with a vote of 405 to 6 and is headed to the Senate. This bill will have a chilling effect on bloggers, political activists, protestors, grass roots campaigners... anyone who would consider any use of "force" to motivate change.

Does Senate FISA bill immunize FBI 'black-bag jobs'?

The FISA Amendments Act, approved by a Senate committee last week, seems to immunize people who cooperated with the FBI, the CIA, the National Security Agency--and other even more shadowy agencies--that conduct black-bag jobs.

Why rot in jail? Donate an organ and get out of jail free!

A South Carolina Senate panel last month endorsed a proposal to cut 180 days off the sentence of an inmate who donates an organ or tissue for use in transplantation. This proposal is well intentioned, but misguided.
