In preparation for our leaders' meeting in New Orleans on April 21-22, we, the ministers responsible for the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America (SPP) met in Los Cabos, Baja California Sur, to review progress on the five priorities identified by leaders in Montebello and to discuss cooperative approaches to common challenges and opportunities.

The Advisory Committee on International Economic Policy (ACIEP) will meet on Monday, March 10, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. in Room 1105 of the Harry S. Truman Building. The meeting will last until approximately 4:00 p.m. and is open to the public. The meeting will be hosted by Assistant Secretary of State for Economic, Energy and Business Affairs (EEB) Daniel S. Sullivan and Committee Chairman Theodore Kassinger.

Gutierrez and Secretary of Homeland Security Michael Chertoff in Los Cabos, Mexico, on February 27-28, 2008, to discuss the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America (SPP).

The leaders of Canada, the United States and Mexico should use their summit this summer to bring everyone from environmentalists to unions into the debate on the Security and Prosperity Partnership, says a prominent advocate of North American integration.
