Welcome To Bizzaro World: Giuliani wins endorsement from Pat Robertson
Submitted by MichaelVail on Wed, 11/07/2007 - 7:35pm.
Rudolph Giuliani scored a big coup on Wednesday by winning the support of Pat Robertson, who, as one of the nation's best-known televangelists, could help Giuliani reassure Republican voters who have been wary of his support for abortion rights.

It should not be surprising that most presidential candidates in the 2008 election are CFR members. Candidates do not advertise their CFR membership to the public. They pose as “liberals” and “conservatives” to control all aspects of the debate. The CFR has stacked the deck for the 2008 election with several members in the race from both sides of the aisle

A message to all those concerned with the 2008 presidential election - Republican, Democratic and independent: it's irrelevant. Who cares whether your candidate is for or against abortion or gay marriage or tweaking the health care system? Who cares how he/she feels about Ronald Reagan? Who cares if they are for or against impeachment? It's as irrelevant as Jimmy Carter's observations on George W. Bush are not. We, as Americans, are in a vast state of denial. We're acting as if everything is OK, as if times were normal, as if we can carry on, in 2008, as though the Bush administration never happened. But everything that has not already changed is changing now.
Government is overzealous with secrecy, Reichert says
Submitted by MichaelVail on Thu, 07/26/2007 - 8:32pm.
WASHINGTON -- The United States is threatened by its fetish for secrecy, an expanding and often arbitrary impulse that adds 40,000 new documents each day to the federal government's mountain of "classified" papers.
That conclusion comes not from the ACLU or Moveon.org, though both organizations agree. It comes from Rep. Dave Reichert, a Republican from Bellevue and a former King County sheriff who is working on legislation that would refine the government's process for deciding which documents remain secret.
The Immigration Reform Act For Dummies
Submitted by MichaelVail on Tue, 06/05/2007 - 3:00am.
Unfortunately the very same President George W. Bush, with whom many of us have defended against the routine attacks of the left for years, has publicly inferred that we all just don't know what we're talking about regarding the Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act of 2007.
Instead of filling us all in, the Republican elite just denigrates us, just as liberals do, and if you were to listen to them, we just don't know what we're talking about and that's that.
Rick Santorum, J.R.R Tolkien's Lord of the Rings and the Iraq War
Rick Santorum is a complete crackpot so he compares Lord of the rings to the Iraq War.
He incorporates Republican talking points into his analogy. As expected, Stephen Colbert made Santorum look like a
blithering idiot. The idea that Iraq is the hot spot for terrorism makes the US safe is asinine, in fact it is creating a whole
new breed of terrorists. When you take into account that our back door is dilapidated and unlocked it makes our nation
very vulnerable.
Thank you Rick Santorum, another perfect example of the caliber of our politicians

Fox News And Neocons Growing Impatient With Bush
Crooks&Liars

Brit Hume and Bill Kristol want unilateral action in North Korea and in Iran. George W. Bush isn't willing at all to initate any military action in N. Korea. These two are complaining that the president has abandoned the PNAC doctrine. Brit Hume is so drab and tiresome that he it is painful to watch him. The Straussian slug Bill Krisol wants your sons and daughters to die in needless wars so that he can make more speeches at universities and sling his neoconservative rag, The Weekly Standard.

Courting Disaster: Getting into bed with autocratic regimes
Submitted by MichaelVail on Thu, 08/17/2006 - 3:31pm.
President Harry S. Truman declined two requests by the British to go to war against Iran in 1951 and 1952. But still conceded to a allow a covert CIA operation in conjunction with British Intel.
In 1953, General Dwight D. Eisenhower authorized the go-ahead of the CIA operation known as Project Ajax (led by Kermit Roosevelt, grandson of Teddy and cousin of FDR) to undermine and overthrow a democratic Muslim government and install a brutal dictator.
Why?
In order to reinstall BP in control of the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company.
