Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on Monday that he was willing to serve as prime minister under his protege Dmitry Medvedev, who is almost certain to be the country's next president.

Oct. 1 (Bloomberg) -- Russian President Vladimir Putin, barred by the constitution from seeking a third straight term in office, unveiled a plan to stay in power by becoming prime minister.
