rdinarily, an $8 million Air Force contract to build a new, prototype radar might not get much notice. But this radar system may be "capable of detecting underground facilities" from the air, and "even locating objects within such facilities," according to Inside the Air Force. "The announcement of this project comes at a time when there has been intense speculation about the United States' ability to strike potential Iranian nuclear facilities that may be buried deep underground."

The US is secretly upgrading special stealth bomber hangars on the British island protectorate of Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean in preparation for strikes on Iran's nuclear facilities, according to military sources.

Tucked inside the White House's $196 billion emergency funding request for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan is an item that has some people wondering whether the administration is preparing for military action against Iran. The item: $88 million to modify B-2 stealth bombers so they can carry a newly developed 30,000-pound bomb called the massive ordnance penetrator, or, in military-speak, the MOP.
