Kosovo declared independence from Serbia on Sunday. The United States and many, but not all, European countries recognized it. The Serbian government did not impose an economic blockade on — or take any military action against — Kosovo, although it declared the Albanian leadership of Kosovo traitors to Serbia.

Once again the world is weathering a financial crisis. But the crisis, this time, is a two-edged sword hitting both sides of the Atlantic. Unfortunately, the mass media are focusing on just one aspect of this looming crisis, that which has been created by the subprime loans fiasco in the United States. But a crisis of proportions destined to affect the whole of Europe and ultimately impact the whole world looms across the Atlantic. The core of this crisis emanates from the beating heart of the European Union. On the American side of the Big Pond, as EU watcher Bernard Connolly observes concerning the fallout from the policies of the Fed’s former head, Alan Greenspan, “whatever mistakes Greenspan may have made, he just got it wrong: He didn’t deliberately set up this Greek tragedy” (Telegraph, August 20).

MANILA, Philippines -- Southeast Asia will have completed free trade agreements with all major countries in the region within the next five years, ahead of forming its own EU-style economic community in 2015, the bloc said Sunday.

The United States and the European Union have signed up to a new transatlantic economic partnership at a summit in Washington.The pact is designed to boost trade and investment by harmonising regulatory standards, laying the basis for a US-EU single market.

America was fashioned by our founding fathers as a constitutional republic with inalienable rights endowed to its citizens. In the past America was the beacon of liberty which was the one of primary reasons why our country flourished. Free men and women starting businesses and developing inventions made this country what it is today. Sadly, in the name of globalism our country is being sacked, looted and merged in a 'shotgun wedding' of sorts called the American Union.

 

OTTAWA (AP) -- Promoting prosperity topped the agenda at a gathering of U.S., Canadian and Mexican Cabinet leaders Friday, but immigration and the threat of terrorism also were key topics at the gathering.

Nine foreign and security ministers from the North American nations met in Ottawa, including Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff.

The Security and Prosperity Partnership talks were a lead-up to a meeting of the countries' leaders this August in Canada.

Arizona State University is allegedly teaching that the U.S., Mexico and Canada need to be "integrated" into a unified pro Big Business superstate, where U.S. citizens of the future will be known as "North Americanists," according to the taxpayer-funded "Building North America" program.

The program openly advocates for the "integration" of economic issues across the continent, and in many places goes further – such as the call for a common North American currency.
