Department of Health tests Military for depleted uranium levels

The New Mexico Department of Health is testing New Mexico veterans and active duty personnel who may have been exposed to depleted uranium in the Persian Gulf War, the Afghanistan conflict or the current war in Iraq. The Department of Health will make appointments to test individuals in every county of the state from Nov. 13 to the week of Dec. 10

In one of the longest-held secrets of the Cold War, the U.S. Army explored the potential for using radioactive poisons to assassinate "important individuals" such as military or civilian leaders, according to newly declassified documents obtained by The Associated Press.
