Who Will Rule Us After the Next 9/11?

Oh, god. I'm reluctant to write this particular column. I've been scarred by this kind of story before. I've learned that it's difficult to write about the sources of paranoia without spreading paranoia. But the subject, NSPD-51—that's National Security Presidential Directive 51—and the attendant explosion of blogospheric paranoia about it deserve attention. Even if you don't believe, as I don't, that NSPD-51 is a blueprint for a coup in the guise of plans for "continuity of government" in the event of a national emergency (such as a terrorist attack during an election campaign). Even if you don't believe, as I don't, that it will be used as a pretext for canceling the upcoming presidential election and preserving "continuity" of this administration in office.

Minot B-52 scandal hardly an accident

A prominent journalist says the Minot B-52 incident, in which nukes were flown over the US, is hardly believable as just an 'accident.'

1,000 Attempt Citizen's Arrest of Bush at UN; Blocked by Police, 10 to 12 Arrests

As George Bush made his appearance and speech today at the United Nations in NYC, 1,000 people issued a citizen's arrest warrant against him for war crimes and crimes against humanity.

In case of martial law, break glass

Bush now has the ability to declare martial law at his own discretion, and in so doing dissolve the other branches of government, throw out the constitution, and suspend elections. He appropriated the right to do this largely by executive order. He can declare martial law whenever he deems there is sufficient cause; cause being an act of terrorism, an economic crisis, an act of war, civil unrest, or a natural catastrophe.

US to label Iranian military unit 'terrorist'

The United States has decided to designate Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps, the country's 125,000-strong elite military branch, as a "specially designated global terrorist," US officials tell Robin Wright for Wednesday editions of the Washington Post. The move "allows Washington to target the group's business operations and finances.

Impeach Now or face the consequences!

Yes dear friends unless Congress takes the bull by the horns and initiates immediate action to impeach Bush and Cheney, a year from now may be too late and we could have a dictatorial police state on our hands and in addition to that be at war with Iran.

Olbermann’s Special Comment on GOP Fearmongering

Keith issued arguably his most powerful Special Comment yet tonight. This time he takes on the GOP's newest fearmongering ad which quotes Osama bin Laden and Ayman al-Zawahiri superimposed over pictures of explosions with the sound of a ticking bomb in the background. As if that wasn't enough, it's topped off with the cryptic message echoing LBJ's 1960 "Daisy" ad that ran just once: These are the stakes.

Fox News And Neocons Growing Impatient With Bush

Crooks&Liars

Brit Hume and Bill Kristol want unilateral action in North Korea and in Iran. George W. Bush isn't willing at all to initate any military action in N. Korea. These two are complaining that the president has abandoned the PNAC doctrine. Brit Hume is so drab and tiresome that he it is painful to watch him. The Straussian slug Bill Krisol wants your sons and daughters to die in needless wars so that he can make more speeches at universities and sling his neoconservative rag, The Weekly Standard.
