A US Congress report says private security firm Blackwater has been involved in at least 200 shooting incidents in Iraq since 2005.

The report, prepared by the majority staff of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, also said Blackwater had fired at 122 people over the past three years.

State Department contractor Blackwater that is under investigation for the death of 11 Iraqis on September 16 will answer questions about the shooting and other similar incidents on Tuesday.

The FBI said it had been asked by the State Department to send a team of investigators to Iraq to look into the shootings. No criminal charges have been filed yet against Blackwater over that incident.

The memorandum also slammed the State Department's oversight of Blackwater and said it was often more interested in getting the company to pay off victims' families and "put the matter behind us" than in investigating what happened.

Blackwater, founded in 1997, is the biggest of the State Department's three private security contractors. The others are Dyncorp and Triple Canopy.
