Iran has become self-reliant in military equipment
The Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps commander, Major General Mohammad Ali Ja'fari, says that Iran has become self-sufficient in weapons. The sef-reliance of Iran's armed forces in producing defense equipment is a privilege that cannot be weakened by sanctions, Ja'fari said on the sidelines of Iran's military parade Saturday.
The Iran-Iraq war would not have lasted eight years if Iran had produced military equipment independently at the beginning of the war, noted the general.
"Iran has prepared the necessary plans in case it is attacked by enemies," Ja'fari added.
The IRGC commander stated that Iran's military equipment might not be quite the equivalent of what is available to the enemies, but it is able to act in a more effective way.
The general stressed that countries that take the wrong step of facilitating conditions for invaders should know that they would be judged as siding with the latter.
In response to threats by the enemies, Ja'fari said that Saturday's military parade of the armed forces went far in showing them Iran's real military power.
The commander of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps assured the enemies that they would regret threatening Iran and that attacking Iran would be a bitter experience they would never forget.
Turning to Iran's close relationship with the neighboring countries, especially the Persian Gulf states, Ja'fari noted that Iran could contribute to regional security and stability with the help of its neighbors.
