Behold The Taxman Cometh: ...And Cometh And Cometh!

According to the Tax Foundation, taxes now consume more than 38% of the average family's budget. That is more than is spent on food, clothing, housing, and transportation combined. Compare this to the plight of medieval serfs. They only had to give the lord of the manor one-third of their output -- and they were considered slaves. So what does that make us? – Daniel Mitchell, The Washington Times, 3/9/99

Okay, shorty, from now on the whole world is gonna be double taxed. Triple taxed. Quadruple taxed. Surtaxed. Exercised taxed. Overtaxed. And, thumb taxed. --Bluto

Are Americans under some mass hypnosis or it is a case of mass psychosis. We have lost all touch with reality. April 15 is right around the corner. We are being robbed year after year but the mugger does not have a ski mask, he comes in suit with a nice smile. Our political parties have long abandoned us. They are only good for petty squabbles over money and power. The majority of Americans are Democrats and Republicans. Democrats were the party of human rights and equality. Yet they became the party of Jim Crow and segregation. Today many of them are progressive socialists that want to take the money out of the pockets of others through a global tax to go towards fixing global warming. A concept that has yet to be accepted by the slimmest majority in the scientific community.

Al Gore drones on about global warming but that does not stop him from flying around on private jets and owning multiple homes that rack up electric bills that you or I could not fathom. He does not have to abide by the restrictions set on the public by the alarmist eco-terrorists. They will 'suggest' that you turn in your Escalade and buy a sardine can that goes 30 mph downhill. You will do it because you think that in your small effort the earth will be better off. I suppose that Captain Planet propaganda has paid dividends for the Eco-activists.

Republicans have changed over the years as well. The Republican party was the party of fiscal responsibility and limited government. Far too many Republicans of this era are big government statists who add layers of bureaucracy just to employ their cronies. It is the tower of babel theory. Homeland Security is an example that speaks volumes about bureaucracies.

Our founding fathers went to war because the King of England tried to expand his power through the use of taxes. The stamp act was imposed on all American colonists and required them to pay a tax on every piece of printed paper they used. Ship's papers, legal documents, licenses, newspapers, other publications, and even playing cards were taxed.

The Revenue Act, imposed customs duties on colonial imports of glass, red and white lead, paints, paper, and tea. This is the beginning of the end for the King of England's dominance over America. The early Americans abhorred excessive taxes and licenses, yet some 200 years later we have many of the same problems.

You and that special someone marry and you sign a marriage license which is a contract between you, your wife and the state. You have a child and the state has a vested interest in that child. In our America taxes and licenses go hand in hand. Taxes in this country are countless and far too many are hidden. The average gas price in Florida is about $2.40 per gallon and 19% of that is taxes.

Gas tax, spirits tax, cigarette tax, sales tax, property tax, income tax and so much more that Americans are unaware of. If Americans knew how much they paid in taxes in just 5 years, they would bring back tar and feathering. Taxpayers are loved by all bureaucrats as long as they keep forking over the cash on time.

Americans need to stand up and let their voices be heard. A good citizen is not a person who stands idly by while their neighbor's home and possessions are taken in broad daylight because they owe the government money. Love your neighbor and instead of sitting in front of the boob tube watching 24 and girls gone wild infomercials have some dialog with your neighbors. Meet every Wednesday night for a book club or eat dinner together. Have some face to face time and discuss the issues that interest you. America still belongs to the people and not the politicians.
