Fighting for democracy: Nearly one million mexicans protest elections

Mexicans are fighting for their own democracy. Nearly one million Mexicans out on the street representing the other Presidential candidate. They are not sure if he would have been any better than the establishment lackey that has been placed in office but it is the principle which counts. Would Americans ever rise up and defend their democracy? The Mexicans are representing their country and their views, right or wrong I respect their integrity and their will to fight the aristocrats that aren't even mexican that have destroyed their country.

Should we have done the same in the 2000 elections? That election was stolen outright and in front of our eyes. It was given to George W. Bush on a platter. So much dirt was done by the Republicans that the truth is slowly coming to light to this day. Jamming phones, derailing African-Americans by sending them to the wrong polling places, outright exploitation of the people by fixed ballots. The coup de grace was the voting machines themselves, with so many security holes and run on an internet server.

If you buy a 99 cent Jr Bacon Cheeseburger from Wendy's you get a receipt, yet with the very symbol of our democracy we receive no physical record of who we have voted for. There is something worse than that. 80 percent of our voting machines are run by two brothers, Diebold and ES&S. In 2008 if we run into the same issues of voting fraud there may be a few thousand real Americans out on the street making some noise, but the rest will be on their sofas watching it with their tivo. We know the truth, that many Americans are decadent. Mexico has given us a glimpse into 2008. Get right America or get on the fast track to tyranny.

Wake up America

MEXICO CITY - Hundreds of thousands of protesters marched through the Mexican capital on Sunday to demand a manual recount in the disputed presidential election, led by a leftist candidate who says fraud cost him the presidency.

As a precaution, the Roman Catholic Church canceled Mass at the city’s downtown cathedral as supporters of Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador began to overwhelm the central plaza to the sound of firecrackers and bands. Police officials in the pro-Lopez Obrador city government estimated the crowd at 900,000.

Conservative candidate Felipe Calderon, of President Vicente Fox’s National Action Party, won by about 244,000 votes in the official count after the July 2 election.

Lopez Obrador’s Democratic Revolution Party has appealed to the federal electoral court to overturn the official count, alleging illicit government and corporate help for Calderon, ballot stuffing and other irregularities. The former Mexico City mayor says he will stop the protests only if there is a ballot-by-ballot recount.

National Action has also filed its own challenges, seeking to stretch Calderon’s tiny vote advantage. Calderon has said he believes is no legal basis for a complete recount, and has called on Lopez Obrador to respect official vote tallies.

What do you think America? Will we eventually stand up and deliver? I need your input on this important topic!
